About The Opportunity
This role will partner closely with a cross-functional team of data scientist, product managers, and ML engineers to conceptualize, architect, and deliver AI-powered products, such as novel Deep Learning models on complex tabular data, custom NLP solutions powered by generative AI, develop image detection models, and expand our capabilities on customized Foundation Models.
How You’ll Do It
- Research and pioneer solutions for applications of deep learning to address variety of business challenges
- Build AI/ML models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
- Design and implement specialized language and image processing models using insurance-related data
- Leverage transfer learning and self-supervision for building robust custom solutions
- Implement cutting-edge solutions for NER, semantic-embedding, text generation, summarization, dialogue systems, and other language tasks
- Leverage a broad stack of technologies — PyTorch, Hugging Face, Spark, LangChain and more — to reveal the insights hidden within tabular and textual data
- Translate AI research into production-ready solutions with engineering teams
The Right Stuff
- 5 years building and evaluating NLP solutions using language models
- 5 years building machine learning solutions with the full ML development lifecycle using AI and ML frameworks and public cloud
- 4 years building deep learning models on tabular data
- 5 years PyTorch, Keras, or TensorFlow, TensorFlow Hub
- 1 year working with AWS
- Hands-on experience developing AI/ML solutions using open-source tools and cloud computing platforms
- Hands-on experience through the full AI/ML product development lifecycle
- love asking questions and pushing hard to get to the first principles
- Seek and test novel solutions. Stay current on state-of-the-art methods, technologies, and applications and seek out opportunities to apply them
- Genuine collaborator with cross-disciplinary teams with commitment to build shared solutions
- Generate hypotheses, test, learn and build better solutions

Base Compensation Range
$175,000—$235,000 USD

Location Information
Unless otherwise specified, this role has the option to be hybrid or remote. Hybrid work locations provide team members with the flexibility of working partially from our Denver or DC office and from home. Remote team members must live and work in the United States* (*territories excluded), and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.
