SUMMARY

ANSYS, Inc. seeks Principal Application Engineer SCBU to work in San Jose, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the evaluation, deployment, and support of innovative solutions for software products and supporting systems.
• Act as a technical reference, working closely with customers, partners, R&D Engineers, and Sales teams to evaluate and deploy major new flows, methods and capabilities to meet business objectives.
• Serve as a regional subject matter expert in multiple tools.
• Lead technical campaigns and direct peers to successful completion.
• Own a complete solution (i.e. tool/command, documentation, etc.) and drive it to closure.
• Develop and deliver training and education to peers and customers.
• Serve as a mentor for junior level application engineers.
• Negotiate success criteria with customers for critical technical campaigns.
• Discover and contribute to closing new business opportunities.
• Become a trusted advisor to customers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering or a related field of study, and twelve (12) years of experience in a related position.
• Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering or a related field of study, and ten (10) years of experience in a related position.
• Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
  • circuit analysis and design, physical design, timing and noise analysis, or voltage drop related analysis with EDA/CAD tools;
  • technical knowledge of EDA tools on layout, STA, Extraction-SPEF/DSPF and Spice;
  • demonstrated domain expertise in on-chip and system level power noise and reliability;
  • experience providing technical presentations to customers;
  • experience crafting robust and efficient scripts; and
  • TCL and Python programming.
• Domestic and international travel required up to 10% of time.
