Principal Architect Cloud and Automation Expert

What You'll Do
As a Principal Architect, you will drive technical thought leadership in programs related to Cisco's key focus areas including Hybrid Multi-Cloud, Observability, Security, Networking, and CloudOps all while accelerating digital transformation for our customers. This role will provide strategic direction to both our internal stakeholders, our partners, and our customers. Significant cross-organizational teamwork and alignment are required. The Principal Architect is responsible for being innovative by bringing new ideas that can drive the success of our key focus areas by developing architecture documents, working with various product and engineering teams, providing inputs into strategy, and driving standards for the key elements in various programs.
Who You'll Work With

• Responsible for driving transformation programs with Cisco's strategic Service Provider and Enterprise customers
• As the Principal Architect, you will collaborate with multiple Cisco teams including Product Management, Delivery, Sales, and Engineering to shape the vision of solutions for our customers.
• Work closely with various teams to shape and deliver architecture standards and designs for associated initiatives
• Establish architecture and technical standards that will enable scale and repeatability of solutions in the areas of Automation and Orchestration, Observability, Cloud, DevOps, etc.
• Drive thought leadership through published content, technical webinars, etc. for internal and external teams
• Provide input into technical offer development and integration roadmaps
• Possess strong ability to tackle complex problems creatively
• Partner with CX Americas leaders on focus areas which will deliver greater value to our customers
• Support continuous improvement of all processes, methodologies, and services
• Escalates any project or stakeholder issues in a timely manner

You have professional presentation skills and can interface with strategic clients internally and externally. Some other experiences and skills that you have include:

• Bachelor of Science Degree and/or 15+ years of proven experience required. Certifications from any of the major Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) and SaaS providers are highly desired
• Expertise in large scale systems design and architecture
• Practical experience in deploying and managing applications in public or hybrid cloud environments
• Hands on experience with crafting and implementing microservices based architectures, container solutions with tools like Kubernetes, Docker, or OpenShift.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, developing DevOps processes and managing toolchains with deep understanding of API integrations between systems
• Hands on development experience with multiple languages desired, preferably including Python, within a framework such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef.
• Strong track record working with matrixed teams delivering complex programs within strict timelines
• Cloud Networking and Security experience
• Strong documentation and presentation skills at leadership levels in internal/external meetings and events
• Effective communications experience collaborating with strategic clients and large audiences
• Strong experience in leading industry Networking, Compute, and Virtualization Solutions integrating into public cloud service providers.
