Principal Architect, Infrastructure

How you'll make an impact:As a Principal Infrastructure Architect, you will be the technical expert for the Infrastructure team with a focus on solution architecture. The individual in this role is the subject matter expert for Strata's SaaS application hosted in our private cloud. As the Principal Architect you will be tasked with designing for the future by understanding the current environment and looking to extend capabilities, performance, and innovation to meet our business needs. You will be an active member of the Infrastructure team completing operational tasks, projects, problem/change tickets, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. This team is responsible for ensuring our enterprise compute environment is performing efficiently and securely, while also ensuring we can meet our client SLAs.

• Work as a member of a team of infrastructure engineers and system administrators, that are focused on maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Strata's compute environment.
• Identify potential technologies and approaches to address needs within the infrastructure and evaluate their applicability and fit.
• Work with IT Leadership as well as other Principal Architects in IT to establish a long-term roadmap that balances current on-premise needs and future forward architecture as part of a hybrid cloud approach.
• Lead definition of standards and best-practices.
• Be an escalation point for other technical teams and provide hands-on expertise.
• Participate in compliance and regulatory audits.
• Work closely with IT Security team to ensure solutions are secure and meet compliance requirements.
• Advise and participate in the planning, installation, and management of Strata's private cloud which includes hardware, operating systems, hypervisors, and data center operations.
• Lead capacity planning and capacity management across multiple data centers.

How we work:We have the flexibility to support both fully remote and hybrid work - our campuses are located in Chicago, IL and St. Louis, MO. Regardless of location, you'll have the chance to visit our Chicago headquarters throughout the year!What we're looking for:

• 10+ years implementation and maintaining a physical and virtual infrastructure
• 5+ years, Enterprise level VMware Experiences (preferably in a SaaS Hosting environment or Large/Enterprise)
• 5+ years, Microsoft Infrastructure technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy)
• 2-3+ years, functional knowledge of Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, Google).
• Experience managing Storage and Storage Networking (Pure, AWS S3, EMC)
• Automation/configuration management using Ansible, Terraform, or Salt.
• Experience with multiple Linux distributions (Ubuntu/Debian and CentOS) a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work on project teams and across departments.
• Have previously worked in regulated industries with regulatory requirements such as SOX, HIPAA, etc.
• Ability to leverage Agile methodology to plan and manage workload.
