Job Description Summary:
Venmo's App Powered Commerce organization is looking for an experienced Backend engineer to build the next generation commerce experience and capabilities for a new segment of Venmo users: Sellers! We are looking for someone who is motivated, versatile, and hands-on as you are responsible for inspiring a team of skilled engineers, helping with design, implementation, and delivering state of the art mobile experiences and highly scalable systems. Strong coding, hands-on technology skills, a positive work ethic, and a collaborative mindset are the key to your success in this role. You will be working with various cross-functional groups (business, product, analytics, and engineering) and will require admirable articulation, negotiation and influencing skills. Experience or awareness of the payments/retail industry and social apps is a big plus.

• Extensive background coding in Python (2 and 3), designing scalable systems, working in a cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) and building complex systems serving millions of users.
• A customer champion that can work with engineers, product managers and analysts to enable their business needs.
• Working with product managers using agile methodologies to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
• Collaborating with peers both within their teams and across the organization.
• Ensure quality and timely delivery of initiatives.
• Mentor, and coach teams of backend, and full-stack Engineers (Android, iOS and Web)
