PRINCIPAL SYSTEMS ANALYST

The successful candidate will be required to lead a number of complex cross functional projects within the clinical & Medical Affairs function, working with global responsibility. This position will act in the key role of Senior Business Analyst, IT, external vendors and subject matter experts across the organization. As well as business project management lead, this person will be expected to be subject matter expert for clinical evaluation data and liaise closely with other SMEs especially within the area of Post Market Surveillance.

The person will need to understand the overall scope and vision of Clinical & Medical Affairs (SMA) and work globally with other functional groups to ensure our visions around data, data accessibility and usage are understood and shared, and reflected within the project delivery and future SMA BI strategies. This position will also work closely with senior management stakeholders, as well as the Business Project Lead, Project Sponsor and Change Management lead to ensure the system is delivered, communicated and trained effectively.

With the initial pilot project being delivered using Agile methodology, this position will act in the critical role of Product Owner. During Scrum stages the product owner is specifically responsible for
  • Profitability (ROI) of product
  • Engagement with all business stakeholders
  • Release and sprint planning
  • Definition and prioritization of features incl. architectural design etc.
  • Testing and acceptance of work results
  • Communication, release planning, training


The ability to adapt to the various internal PMO procedures and to form close links with the nominated IT and PMO representatives is essential in ensuring that the key issues of scope, cost, time and quality can be realized.

The candidate must possess good planning, communication and financial skills, coupled with effective people management, business satisfaction, vendor management, risks identification and mitigation, and issue resolution skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with senior business partners and the Chief Medical Officer to establish BI strategy and capabilities required to support the strategic vision of Clincal & Medical Affairs globally.
  • Continue to develop the scope and requirement and prepare key materials to ensure PMI project progress through key stage gates eg. project initiation, prep, funding, approval, delivery, testing, implementation, and training.
  • Develop business project plan, aligned with IT plan, to ensure all aspects of the project are delivered in scope, on time and in budget
  • Gather and agree on project objectives and requirements across global functional teams and key business stakeholders globally.
  • Follow the standard projects delivery methodology, working closely with PMO, IT, BI and project stakeholders
  • Define and agree on security and usage requirements of the system and the data held within
  • Perform test scripting, testing, and training as required.
  • Deliver the agreed scope on-time and on-budget; make sure the defined quality standards are met
  • Ensure timely and effective communication and reporting to team members and stakeholders
  • Present regular updates and issue management to key business stakeholders
  • Work closely with external vendors and project teams globally.
  • Collaborate with other affected internal groups, if applicable eg. marketing, quality assurance, research and development, regulatory and clinical affairs, and legal teams.
  • Manage project scope, project risk, project cost; arrange to report on cost management through the defined channels
  • Projects budget responsibility, people cost & expenses; infrastructure and other expenses consolidation with IT. Ensure costs are monitored.


EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor Degree, higher or equivalent is a must-have requirement with 7+ years' experience


EXPERIENCE:
  • Essential experience of clinical evaluation, data analysis and understanding of Post Market Surveillance requirements.
  • Desired experience in big data analysis and appreciation of complexities around management of unstructured data.
  • Broad IT understanding and preferred experience and confidence leading successful projects with an IT element.
  • Must have experience managing all aspects of the project from business, to IT, to third party partners.
  • Knowledge of project planning, implementation & management gained through experience using formal project planning tools and recognized project management methodology
  • Business/Scientific analysis skills for analyzing scope definition, requirements definition
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a complex change environment with multiple stakeholders and securing their engagement to deliver change
  • Knowledge of change management principles
  • Knowledge of developing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Experience of influencing staff at all levels to ensure that all members of the team including users and stakeholders deliver assigned tasks and project objectives
  • Experience of working across organizational boundaries and geographies to achieve results
  • Skilled in negotiation and influencing techniques including the ability to challenge and reality test other's positions constructively
  • Experience of training and facilitating group discussions
  • Experience in managing budgets and effective resource management
  • Able to influence in a consensus building culture.
  • Clear and effective communication, verbal and written
