About the product:

The product is the state-of-the-art Inventory Management and availability processing solution for airlines using a high-performance, scalable, and cloud-enabled open systems architecture providing optimal management of seats while increasing revenue optimizations, sophisticated rules engine, point-of-sale control, dynamic availability, and pricing. The Product processes over 7 Billion daily transactions, with peak volumes reaching over 1000 updates/second and over 100K transactions/second, with an average response time of 10 milliseconds. The product supports over 20 interfaces to other products and supports web services.

About the position:

The Principal Software Engineer position will take a strong technical leadership role in leading developers in a scrum team, working on a mission-critical, high-performance, low-latency product that provides availability and inventory services interacting with mission-critical products. The selected candidate will play a key role in interfacing between developers, TPM, QA, and architects to develop product features.

What you will be doing:
• Develops, codes, tests, and debugs new moderately complex software solutions or enhancements to existing software in a maintenance capacity. • Has a good understanding of business applications. • Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them. • Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. • May assist in developing software technical documentation. • Designs and codes moderately complex applications. • May create optimization programs to resolve problems. • May design and build prototype applications.

Essential skills:
• 12+ years of development experience in C++/Linux with 5+ years in a lead role. • Expert Knowledge of C++ development in a Linux environment.• Solid knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns.• Solid knowledge of Perl and Unix shell scripting.
Low-latency application development experience - Highly desired.• Experience developing cache solutions - Highly desired• NoSQL experience - Highly desired.• Operations experience - Strongly Preferred.• Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining applications in Cloud environments - Preferred• Knowledge of Boost and STL C++ Libraries• Experience working in NoSQL databases such as Couchbase.• Experience in object databases - Strongly preferred. • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results. • Strong team player, able to work with distributed global teams.• Responsibility to handle on-call support tasks.

Required Technical Skills: C++, Boost, Couchbase, Linux, Perl, Python, XML/JSON, Google test framework, MQ Series, GCP, Google PubSub

Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
