Principal Certification Engineer

Be part of the Leadership team that isresponsible for providing Aerospace level certification oversight. The ProductAssurance Airworthiness & Certification (PAAC) organization has a PrincipalCertification Engineer position available. The successful candidate willbe expected to meet qualification criteria for the Honeywell STC ODAadministrator. You will be responsiblefor adherence to the Honeywell and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)Partnering for Safety Plan (PSP) and work with members of leadership fromvarious product groups to ensure STC projects are compliant with regulationsand the Honeywell ODA procedures manual. You will provide technical leadershipto a group of talented professionals who provide expertise to facilitate thesuccessful installation and certification of Honeywell products.

As a seniormember of the certification engineering team, other responsibilities includeproviding guidance and mentoring junior level Certification Engineers, providingguidance in work estimates and project schedules, coordinating with Aftermarketand Product Program managers, and supporting technical and certificationstrategy discussions with customers and internal Honeywell stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Interface between Unit Leaders and Administrators
• Participate in evaluation panels
• Conduct Training
• Educate team on guidelines and documentation
• Ensure Honeywell Procedures Manual is Followed
• Ensure Training Compliance
• Provide guidance on completing Federal forms
• Perform periodic annual assessments
• Perform Audits
• Standardize Processes

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Aerospace or equivalent discipline
• 8 years experience in the development and certification of avionics systems & equipment
• Previous or current FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) delegation or ODA Engineering Unit Member
• A US Citizen or permanent resident due to export control and ITAR restrictions.
• Ability to travel

• Knowledge of aircraft wiring and associated documentation is preferred
• Knowledge of communication, navigation, surveillance, and data/voice recording avionics systems is an asset
• Demonstrated communication skills with both internal and external customers as well as leadership
• Self-directing with ability to manage to schedules & metrics is preferred
• A proven ability for fostering excellent customer/certification agency relationships is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and productivity gains through use of collaborative team methods is preferred
