Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is looking for a Principal Cloud Analytics Software Engineer to build innovative tools allowing scientists and students alike to discover, transform, update and improve the quality of Earth Science data in the pursuit of solving a wide range of environmental and socio-economic issues. You will perform the design, development, integration and testing of the software in support of software deliveries using the Agile software development methodologies. The successful candidate will have a knowledge of technical standards, principles, concepts of software engineering and will be expected to develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Identify client reporting objectives, develop KPI framework and identify suitable analytics to ensure that all required metrics data can be reliably tracked and reported
• Develop data pipelines using ELK on the AWS cloud
• Use AWS services to build out science data processing in the cloud
• Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle from user story generation, through design, development, automated testing and operational support
• Participate as a member of an Agile team and work with other team members to review user stories, estimate effort to build functionality supporting user stories and participate in sprint review
• Other duties as assigned

Security Clearance:

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Required Skills:

• Experience 8+ years developing data-driven applications, ELK (ElasticSearch, LogStash, Kibana) preferred
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including at a minimum S3, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation and Terraform
• Strong analytical skills, proficient with Microsoft Excel and data analysis
• Experience describing application or development concepts using data visualizations and analytics

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Python, Ruby, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience with DevOps, especially automated testing and continuous integration.
• Ability to work as a member of small team using the Scrum methodology
• Proven ability to prioritize and execute multiple concurrent project activities

Required Education:

8+ years of relevant experience with a BS degree (typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics); or 6 years of relevant experience with a MS degree (typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)

Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area. Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
