Job Summary
As a Cloud Solution Architect, you will partner with application teams to architect secure, resilient, and performant solutions on Comcast's private cloud platforms across a variety of business use cases. The Comcast Cloud Technologies team develops and delivers cloud technologies and services that enable Comcast organizations to transform their businesses through innovation.

As a technology centric and end to end customer experience driven company, Comcast has embarked on a daring journey to embrace cloud computing and cloud-based technologies across its entire business.
With this goal in mind, over the last several years, many Engineering organizations across Comcast have begun to leverage cloud solutions and services to modernize their infrastructures and establish their future platforms for innovation.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with application teams to help architect secure, resilient, and performant solutions on our private cloud platforms
- Coach and educate engineering teams on cloud concepts and best practices
- Build prototypes, publish design patterns for use by the organization
- Provide guidance on cloud migration techniques including the 6 R's
- Work closely with and provide feedback to the cloud product team to ensure our private cloud offerings meet the growing needs of the applications that depend on it
- Evaluate technical risks and develop mitigation strategies for application team architectures and the private cloud platform
- Create tooling for the private cloud platform that can be leveraged by application teams to ease their adoption and integration

Who does the cloud solution architect work with?
Cloud solution architects work across the Comcast organization with engineers and leaders to enable building products and services for a variety of use cases and leverage their experience internally with the Comcast Cloud Technologies team to provide feedback and guidance to continuously improve our cloud product offerings.

In your role you will enable application teams to deliver Comcast's products and services at massive scale leveraging cloud technologies by engaging with teams to design innovative cloud architectures that solve challenging business problems.

What you need to succeed:
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies
- Experience architecting solutions in a cloud environment
- Able to apply concepts of the well-architected frameworks for private cloud
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Understanding of cloud identity and access management (IAM) concepts and services
- Understanding of VMWare and experience deploying to VMware environment a plus
- Experience deploying on and operating Kubernetes a plus
- Practical experience deploying to a public cloud a plus (AWS, GCP, Azure) a plus
- Understanding of cloud/networking and protocols such as TCP/UDP, ICMP
- Software development experience and understanding of SDL concepts a plus
- Experience troubleshooting issues in large scale Cloud environments a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of presenting to diverse groups of individuals
- Ability to develop relationships and work across multiple teams and organizations

Compensation
This job can be performed in California, with a Pay Range of $159,736.35 USD - $230,020.34 USD
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
