Principal Commercial Strategy Analyst - Remote

ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Principal Commercial Strategy Analyst to join the Strategy & Analysis Team! Individual reports to AVP, Strategy & Analysis. Role is remote; must reside in the United States.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Principal Commercial Strategy Analyst, you get to be part of the Commercial Strategy & Analytics team. As a Principal Analyst, you will play a crucial role in driving strategic 

decision-making by providing valuable insights through data analysis, model building, and automation. You will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in SQL, Python, Alteryx, and spatial analytics tools to support and enhance our business strategies. 

You’ll be identifying how we should be investing our resources across the brands and Partner with the Commercial Owner for forecasting, budgeting and strategic planning. Your team will track the financial progress and make strategic recommendations to meet or exceed our company goals. 

Your usual day of awesomeness includes:  

Riddle Me This & Model Me That 

You’ll build insightful financial models such as Margin Analysis, Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Pricing, Lifetime Value, Discount/Promo analytics, Geospatial and 

Demographic analysis. You’ll serve as the analytics guru when working cross functionally with Sales, Channel Development, Product and Business Intelligence to establish a commercial approach and refine our next steps based on numbers and facts. 

Data Analysis and Insights

• Analyze large datasets using SQL to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for the telecom operator's strategic initiatives. 
• Utilize Python for data manipulation, transformation, and statistical analysis to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets. 
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key findings effectively.

Model Building and Automation 

• Build predictive and prescriptive models using advanced analytical techniques to support strategic decision-making. 
• Automate data workflows, processes, and reports using tools like Alteryx, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data-driven tasks. 
• Implement machine learning algorithms and statistical models to optimize business processes and drive operational improvements. 

Business Problem Solving 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Strategy, Finance, Marketing, and Operations, to understand their requirements and provide analytical solutions to address business challenges. 
• Translate business problems into analytical approaches, design experiments, and provide actionable recommendations based on the analysis results. 
• Proactively identify opportunities to optimize business operations, revenue generation, customer experience, and cost reduction through data-driven insights.

Spatial Analytics 

• Leverage spatial analytics tools to analyze geospatial data, perform network optimization, and identify location-based opportunities for the telecom operator. 
• Utilize Census and other open-source geospatial data to support advanced analytics for product performance and resource allocation strategies.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelors or master's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines, MBA preferred. 
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis. 
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, statistical analysis, and model development.
• Experience with Alteryx or similar tools for data integration, automation, and workflow management. Familiarity with spatial analytics tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms is a plus. 
• Demonstrated experience in building and deploying models, utilizing machine learning techniques, and statistical analysis. 
• Experience with statistical and economic analysis. Knowledge of wireless operator or SAAS KPIs such as churn, gross adds, ARPU, LTV, unit economics and P&L analysis. 
• Experience developing and managing standard self-service reporting that enable access to insights for business users and guide towards maximizing profits. 
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, starting from what data needs to be captured to getting the recommendations implemented and to building reporting for performance tracking. 
• Understanding industry and economic trends to navigate future uncertainties and guide profitable decision-making.
