Overview
The Principal Data Architect is the head of all data functions at Rain Bird Corporation, leading a group of individuals to develop and execute effective data management & analytics strategies. Key responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of a holistic view and roadmap of the enterprise's data management & analytics strategy.
- Partner with both business and technology groups to ensure that proposed data management & analytics solutions align with the enterprise's overall mission and vision.
- Lead the design and implementation of data management strategies, including data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
- Develop and enable adoption of data management policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Spearhead proof-of-concept work to satisfy new business requirements.
- Incorporate ongoing refinements to data practices as technologies advance.
- Collaborate to maximize the value of enterprise data and analytics across Rain Bird.
- Oversee the collection, storage, and management of data to ensure its accuracy, integrity, and security.
- Lead the analysis of data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business decisions and improve performance.
- Build and manage a team of data analysts, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to drive their professional growth and development.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data and analytics.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In-depth knowledge and experience (12+ years) in data management practices, and information technology, preferably in the manufacturing and software industries.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, database management systems, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Experience with relevant tools and technologies, such as data management platforms, and business intelligence solutions.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, demonstrating the business value of data management initiatives.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certifications in enterprise data management, etc.
