Principal Data Architect Consultant

Reporting to the Head of Consulting, our Principal Consultants are an integral part of the leadership team.   As part of this industry-leading team you define and implement cloud-based solutions that set the benchmark for best-in-class practices and enterprise architecture guidelines.

What you’ll be responsible for: 

Consulting Excellence

• Builds and nurtures deep working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as their counterparts in our clients and partners
• Leads a team of Sourced consulting experts, develops and implements enterprise data strategy and execution plans for strategic customer engagements with both global and regional impact, aligned to business goals
• Sets standards for good communication, sound decision making, and active problem-solving
• Reviewing business plans against the organisation's strategic mandate 
• Considers the long-term application and commercial viability of current research activities 
• Brings deep technical expertise and can consult effectively at all levels of an organisation
• Brings experience working with Enterprise architecture teams
• Comfortable presenting and defending design decisions in an Architecture Review Board and with C-level stakeholders
• Brings a forward-thinking approach towards Data, AI and Data Governance at an enterprise scale
• Ability to influence at scale 1:many
• Trusted adviser for our enterprise clients and requires the skills to excel at all aspects of business development, people management, relationship development, delivery of enterprise data solutions and program management in their accounts, following a player/coach model. 
• Driving C-level discussions and working closely with both our clients and our Sourced consulting team to tailor and define adoption and strategies for data and AI
• Providing guidance and support to business and application delivery teams to fully demonstrate the benefits of data 
• Deep experience/credibility in delivering solutions in security conscious and heavily regulated environments

Team Building and Leadership

• Form strong team relationships by leading, coaching, and motivating team members, and identifying and resolving blockers or conflicts
• Helping others generate and identify breakthrough ideas, fresh perspectives and new opportunities 
• Creating and promoting a culture and environment that fosters highly performant teams
• Identify and serve as mentor to “up and coming” consultants
• Work with the executive leadership to assess talent and related action plans
• Be part of recruiting and onboarding to enable new team members

Knowledge sharing and Community

• Developing, managing and continuously improving core internal processes. Creating documentation to support learning and reuse.
• Be a key contributor to our systemic learning and enablement approach to level up our team members on complex cloud transformation projects – so that clients can feel the difference
• Continue to specialize and deepen knowledge
• Able to teach Sourced learning programs to our employees and to our clients
• Create data playbooks and best practices to help clients realize optimal business value from their investments
• Identify and ensure best practices are shared globally to enable our teams to turbo charge their clients’ data journey
• Contribute to project retrospective and knowledge capture processes
• Speaks at regional/global conferences and has an impact in the data community

Growth Strategy for Data across North America

• Support pursuit teams to land multi-year data transformation deals
• Work with leaders to ensure the implementation of data offerings and solutions within your accounts
• Be a brand evangelist and thought leader
• Write White Papers and speak at industry and partner events about data transformation.
• Presenting case studies and cloud solutions at meetups, conferences and technology events 
• Identifying opportunities to access new markets, new services and new clients and carry out pre-sales activities
• Adapting priorities and business plans in response to changing market/client demands 
• Creating and implementing work plans on a global scale for assigned projects, programs, and/or clients against established operational objectives 
• Being a thought leader externally to clients and internally to our consultants 

What you will bring to the role:

• Demonstrated ability to articulate a position on a topic to influence significant global decisions within our Cloud Business Unit and clients 
• A track record of facilitating the exploration of new ideas in the Realm of data and leading innovation among teams.
• Strong facilitation skills with demonstrated experience leading scoping and design sessions, sprint planning, and managing geographically dispersed teams
• You can determine what is best for the organisation overall and create an environment for others to do the same
• Thought Leadership and evangelism experience demonstrated by presenting at an industry forums and events 
• Delivered significant outcomes at security conscious and heavily regulated organisations
• Has achieved recognition within the profession for contributions in thought leadership 
• Proven knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF) and the ability to define designs within this framework
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Spark, R, etc.) – working with deployment and data pipeline technologies such as Airflow, dbt, etc. 
• Proven knowledge of data observability, lineage, quality and alerting 
• Proven knowledge in data transformation design
• Proven knowledge in data pipeline design
• Expert level experience with Databricks
• Additional Cloud Data warehousing experience with Snowflake, Azure Data, Redshift and other
• Strong Database experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and other

Pay Range for this role ($175,000 - $215,000 base) will vary based on experience in addition to full health benefits, bonus, 401K match, ESPP, unlimited vacation and more.
