We are searching for a strategic and inquisitive senior data scientist to help imagine, develop and deploy powerful, high-impact data science/ai/ml solutions. In keeping with this overarching aim, the senior data scientist will be required to help shape data science opportunities working with the business, outline a work plan, assign tasks to junior staff, and monitor performance within the team. You should also harness your mastery of Data Science to act as a consultant on various aspects of these projects.

We are searching for a strategic and inquisitive senior data scientist to help imagine, develop and deploy powerful, high-impact data science/ai/ml solutions. You should also harness your mastery of Data Science to act as a consultant on various aspects of these projects.
Senior Data Scientist Responsibilities:
- Helping shape opportunities to apply data science/AI/ML once they are identified by the business and/or the Principal Data Scientist.
- Broad-based experience working with AI/ML capabilities like computer vision, speech, text, etc., to build solutions to complex business problems/enable interesting last mile automation possibilities.
- Formulating and managing data science projects, which are geared towards furthering the business's interests.
- Using their intuition about the inner workings of statistical models to choose and implement the right models for the problem on hand.
- Ability to help define standards and frameworks around all aspects of the Data Science workflow, including coding and CI/CD standards and frameworks.
- Good, hands-on experience with Engineering aspects is required to produce a model.
- Mentoring Junior Data Scientists on the team.
- Delegating tasks to Junior Data Scientists in order to realize the successful completion of projects.
- Guiding Junior Data Scientists in collating and cleaning data from various sources and in feature engineering and selection.
- Monitoring the performance of Junior Data Scientists and providing them with practical guidance, as needed.
- Cross-validating models to ensure their generalizability.
- Producing or Reviewing and disseminating non-technical reports that detail the benefits and limitations of a model and allow the business to interpret the model output and translate it into business action.
- Ability to create visualizations that make it easy for the business to interpret the model output and take decisions/action.
- Staying informed about developments in Data Science and adjacent fields to ensure that we are leveraging applicable advancements in our company's context.
- Ability to roll up their sleeves rapidly learns and do Proof of Concepts, with tools and problem statements they haven't encountered in the past.
Senior Data Scientist Requirements:
- Should have a consulting mindset - willing to run fast and deliver business value rapidly.
- Advanced degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or similar.
- Past Experience with Data Science/ML/AI in an Industrial Company context preferred.
- Should be able to articulate the value of a Data Science intervention, but at the project formulation stage and after go-live.
- Proficiency in R or Python, where the latter is preferred.
- Proficiency with AWS Sagemaker and the AWS ecosystem of pre-trained AI accelerators and different ways of productionizing models on AWS.
- In-depth understanding of SQL.
- Competent in machine learning principles and techniques.
- Demonstrable history of leading and executing data science projects.
- Ability to relay insights in layman's terms, such that these can be used to inform business decisions.
- Good mentorship skills.
- Ability to contribute to a healthy, stimulating work environment that frequently harnesses teamwork.
- Should have some understanding of prevailing ethical standards on AI and be able to sense and surface potential ethical issues with the Principal Data Scientist/CoE Leadership.
