Principal Data Scientist

NICE WEM is looking for a skilled and accomplished individual with a strong background in data science, specifically in the areas of large language models and speech recognition. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving research, development, and implementation of advanced data science solutions.  This role will be based in our Atlanta office location.

Responsibilities:

• Drive the development of large language models and speech recognition algorithms, and their use-cases inside our Analytics portfolio.
• Conduct cutting-edge research in the field of natural language processing and contribute to the advancement of state-of-the-art techniques.
• Collaborate with business-focused teams to identify and solve real-world business problems using data-driven approaches.
• Mentor and guide junior members of the data science team.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field and integrate emerging technologies into our data science initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related field is a plus.
• Proven track record of publications in the field of large language models and/or speech recognition.
• At least 6-10+ experience in corporate or demonstrably fast-paced academic positions, using "real" industry data.
• Experience with rapid prototyping development.
• Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks and tools.
• Proficiency in Python, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience in AI/speech recognition.
• Experience with Git and version control for managing code repositories.
• Practical use of Docker and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of deep learning architectures and techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor a team of data scientists.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
