As a Principal Data Scientist, you’ll accelerate our journey to achieving our vision by leading product analytics for our core product experience, partnering closely with Product Managers and our executive team to uncover deep insights about our users and using that information to craft the next evolution of the Superhuman product.

THE ROLE 👩🏽‍💻👨‍💻

Mission: use data to improve outcomes for Superhuman’s users and business

• Partner with our Product, Design, Engineering, and Executive teams to discover insights about our users and craft an even better product experience for them
• Design, execute, and learn from A/B tests; up-level our company-wide A/B testing program
• Democratize a culture of data-informed decision-making in product development
• Coach and mentor other Data Scientists to up-level the Product Analytics craft across the Analytics team

Strong candidates typically have 6+ years of experience in data science and analytics. The most impactful skills to succeed in this role are:

• Empathy: You strive to approach projects from stakeholders’ and users’ point of view in order to produce the best outcome for all parties
• Communication: You recognize that communication and narrative are as or more impactful than analysis itself. You are a concise and direct verbal and written communicator, and are effective at async communication (esp. in Slack, Notion, and of course email)
• Embracing Ambiguity: You thrive with a large scope of ownership, and expertly prioritize which problems to solve, push your work forward even in the face of incomplete information, and offer proactive recommendations to help our product business improve
• Ownership: You autonomously define, roadmap, and deliver large-scale projects, anticipating and resolving roadblocks and cross-functional dependencies
• Growth Mindset: You add value by offering critical feedback to your manager, your team, and stakeholders to help them improve, and you expect and welcome the same from them
• Technical Skills:
  • Expert SQL skills
  • Strong command of the fundamentals of statistics
  • Experience with modern data tools like dbt, Metabase, Looker, etc.

COMPENSATION 💸

The Principal Data Scientist role spans several internal levels and a wide breadth of experience at Superhuman. Our compensation band reflects the potentially broad range of candidates and experience levels that we are open to hiring for this role.

Our salaries for this role range from $229,000 to $269,000. The salary range does not reflect total compensation, which includes base salary, benefits, and company stock options.

We are open to candidates in the US, Canada, or Latin America. We take a locally informed approach to non-US-based compensation and will be able to share ranges based on your country of residence.
