Job Description
The Principal DevOps Engineer will be primarily responsible to architecture, design, develop, strategy, automate and operation of Public Cloud (AWS/AZURE/GCP) infrastructure and deployment of Zscaler applications. Build and create CI-CD pipelines for Application deployment. Align with cross functional teams and engage with the Product leads and executives to deliver business needs.
The Engineering team develops innovative solutions that are transforming the internet security business, and millions of users rely on our service for data protection and comprehensive security. We also provide real-time analytics to our customers for unmatched visibility and maintain a state-of-the-art NOC. The development team works on web filtering, policy enforcement, next-gen firewall, sandboxing, DLP, and mobile user solutions. Being responsive to our customers and delivering industry-leading mission-critical solutions require precise engineering and a philosophy of continuous improvement, both areas in which Zscaler engineers excel.
Responsibilities/What You’ll Do:
- You will Facilitate the development process and operations and Identifying setbacks and shortcomings.
- You will establishing continuous build environments to speed up software development and designing efficient practices.
- You will guide development team to troubleshoot, identify root cause, and provide fix for the reported issues (Internal and external).
- You will design and develop automated deployment pipelines to deploy Public Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) and on prem infrastructure.
- You will closely collaborate with development, SRE, Product and support team to address business priority infrastructure deployment requirements.
- You will work on remote application monitoring functionalities to proactively detect issues.
- You will analyze Linux and FreeBSD tools and packages issues and work on integrating automated resolution pipeline.
- You will configure and monitor engineering cloud infrastructure events and alerts. Take necessary actions to address the Alerts.
Qualifications/Your Background:
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience within engineering development and operation focused roles supporting Linux/FreeBSD platforms.
- In-depth understanding and working experience in Linux/FreeBSD platforms.
- Programming skills in Perl, Python and Shell script and understanding of C, C++ code.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as OpenStack, VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Work with technologies like Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD platforms.Â
- Working knowledge of automation service provisioning and middleware configuration and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
Base Pay Range
$212,500—$250,000 USD
