Where you'll work:
Our hybrid workplace model offers the freedom to work fully remote or occasionally in one of our offices. This is a remote position with a hybrid option for candidates based in Charlotte, NC.
How you'll contribute:
As a Principal DevOps Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
- Deploying, managing, and monitoring mission critical cloud infrastructure and applications
- Supporting the VA ALM platform IT solution owners
- Supporting developers with infrastructure and proof of concept needs
In this role, you'll get to:
- Collaborate with IT solution owners and developers throughout the product development process
- Participate in an agile development environment adhering to DevSecOps principals and best
- practices
- Work with the DevOps team members build, automate, and manage cloud infrastructure
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the software development, testing, and delivery process.
- Lead the VA ALM DataOps efforts by utilizing the latest technologies and tools
We're looking for people who have:
- A Bachelor's degree (preferred)
- 5+ years of related experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
- The ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- A strong knowledge of Linux and cloud technologies (Azure)
- Experience with Openshift or other container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes)
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible / Terraform)
- The ability to build and maintain pipelines (CI/CD) using platforms such as Gitlab
- Experience with Python and Java languages.
- Experience with Scala and Akka is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of databases (Postgres, SQL Server, Cassandra) and streaming technologies (Kafka)

- Compensation - Base salary ranging from $155,000-$175,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results
