The Impact You Will Make
Grubhub is looking for a seasoned ML Platform engineer that can bring standardization to our ML workflows. This is including but not limited to feature engineering/monitoring, model deployment/monitoring pipelines and overall ML operations. You will be working with various teams of data scientists, data engineers and software engineers to solutionize a scalable, reliable and secure ML platform. This is a relatively new initiative that has a lot of opportunities to make large scale architectural decisions and to grow a team of engineers.

• Own and oversee large scale technical implementation for Machine Learning platform
• Pivot between the daily tasks of system design and programming to architecting a strategic vision for how our team can optimize Grubhub's Machine Learning operations
• Collaborate to implement best practices and methodologies with regards to technology choices and changes across the organization
• Contribute to GrubHub's research roadmap to help identify areas we can improve the business
• Mentor the team to ensure growth of junior peers

What You Bring to the Table

• Demonstrated ability to write clean and performant code in Python, Java or Scala.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement distributed system architectures with high availability.
• Experience with optimizing enterprise level machine learning operations and standardizing tooling that can be used across entire technology organization (Data engineering, data science, etc)
• Experience with big data: extraction, processing, filtering, and presenting large data quantities using cloud technologies like AWS.
• Experience with streaming data pipelines to process user interaction data.
• Familiarity with utilizing a clustered distributed-data processing tool such as Spark, Dask or Hive.
• Familiarity with big data analysis including tools like Presto, Snowflake, Druid or Map-Reduce.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong mentorship and leadership skills with demonstrated experience collaborating with team members on delivering large scale software projects.

New York Salary Range: $241,000-$314,000
The Base Pay component of our Total Rewards package is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: job responsibilities, location, experience and, education/certifications. In addition to the pay component, this role may be eligible for equity and benefits as part of the Total Rewards package. The Total Rewards package will be determined at the time a contingent offer is made.
