Your role at Baxter

  • Leading and supporting multiple capital projects.
  • Troubleshooting issues with hardware and software.

  • Analyze plant processes, design and implement improvements

What you will be doing

  • Provides engineering support to the maintenance/manufacturing group by troubleshooting and making improvements to equipment and processes.
  • Electrical - Troubleshoots automation systems and complex equipment through PLC, servo, robotic, HMI/MMI, and related process control and automation systems.
  • Mechanical - Troubleshoots mechanical systems associated with automation and manufacturing processes.
  • Leads large scope projects independently with minimal assistance.
  • Provides Engineering leadership within a project team which focuses on accomplishing project objectives which includes process improvements and project implementation. Installs, validates, and implements medium to large scope equipment modifications and capital projects.
  • Investigates and analyzes customer problems and develops design improvement suggestions.
  • Performs hardware/software modifications, and documents system functional specification updates while adhering to documentation and change control requirements.
  • Electrical - Prepares standard operating procedures for new and existing control equipment.
  • Mechanical - Prepares standard operating procedures for new and existing control equipment.
  • Leads the cost estimating of minor process improvements and capital budget items and the spending of approved project funds.
  • The individual will need to be self-motivated and be able to work independently as well as within a multi-functional group to implement and/or handle medium to large scoped process improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
  • Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $68,000 - $156,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive (REMOVE IF NOT APPLICABLE). Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

  • Display a proven understanding of PLCs, HMI software, and electrical systems.
  • Efficiently operate in and may facilitate cross-functional teams with mentorship.
  • Must be able to provide solutions that reflect understanding business objectives and cost implications.
  • Able to work flexible hours as needed to support manufacturing activities.

Required Education and Experience

  • B.S. in Engineering and 3+ years related experience.
  • Experience with programming and solving robotics and vision inspection systems.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical environment writing and reviewing validation and change control documentation.
