Your impact
In the Aircraft Technical Services (ATS) department, we manage the installation and support of inflight systems onboard multiple commercial aircraft types. As an ATS Sustaining Engineer, you will collaborate with talented engineers finding solutions to customer issues arising from installation or maintenance of commercial aircraft related to the Intelsat Inflight Connectivity platform. This schedule driven activity will help our Airline Customers meet their needs to keep aircraft in service accommodating the flying public's desire for connectivity. You should have a genuine desire to satisfy customer needs while maintaining the exacting standards required for flight safety.
What you will do

  • Provide engineering dispositions to support alteration and repair development in a fast-paced work environment as proposed by customer Airlines or internal team.
  • Prepare Engineering Authorizations in accordance with Sustaining Engineering processes and regulatory (FAA, EASA, etc.) requirements.
  • Respond to customer queries with timely helpful information.
  • Support after hours coverage in cases of Aircraft on Ground (AOG).
  • Create quick and robust Static Strength Analysis for Alteration and Repairs in a timely manner to support on time Aircraft Return to Service.
  • Create quick and robust Damage Tolerance Analysis for Alteration and Repairs in a timely manner to support on time Aircraft Return to Service.
  • Streamline the Sustaining Engineering process while maintaining the highest standards of safety and timeliness.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities across departmental teams.


Your required experience/skills

  • Engineering Degree (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • A minimum of 7 years of recent, relevant experience in aircraft Repair and Alteration Engineering
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Proficient with FEMAP or equivalent, AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent and Visual Basic.
  • Knowledge of aircraft structures

  • Maintenance/Repair Organization experience
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Experience with Configuration Management (CM), preferably Agile.

  • CALIFORNIA STATE EXEMPT Pay Rate: The annual salary range for this position is $138,850 to $182,751. In determining compensation, Intelsat considers factors including position scope and responsibilities, candidate's work experience, education/training, skills, internal peer equity, as well as others when extending an offer.
