Principal Engineer - Development (Dot Net, Angular 8+)

What you will be doing:

• Understand the big picture and take part in architectural approaches for software design and implementation.
• Participate in and lead POCs for upcoming technically and/or functionally complex epics on the development roadmaps.
• Provide high level solution design for roadmap items, coordinating with other product architects and get the designs reviewed and completed together with them.
• Keep up with new and upcoming technology concepts and frameworks and apply them in the product to improve the product architecture in line with our go to cloud strategy.
• (Situational) Support the scrum teams to meet their delivery milestones by working within or next to the teams, especially in demanding client-driven deliveries.
• Provide technical leadership and supports the team with writing quality code, do code reviews for junior members in the team.
• Identify design issues, improvements and guide the team to adapt the code as per best practices and develop sustainable code.
• Ensure developed software meets all the requirements of quality, performance, scalability.
• Contribute towards creating and imparting high quality training (and material) to train new joiners in the team.
• Work in sprints – take part in design, development, unit testing and defect fixing of the product.

What you bring:

• • Knowledge of FIS products and services; in-depth knowledge of products and services in assigned line(s) of business
  • Knowledge of financial services industry
  • Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles, e.g., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development
  • Knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry , e.g., ISO, CMM, Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of banking practices, regulations and operations within assigned line(s) of business
  • In-depth understanding of design patterns and their application
  • Fluency in developing and understanding sequence diagrams, class models, etc.
  • Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model driven design based tools and techniques including conceptual solution component models, business process models, use cases, etc.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
  • Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
  • Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts
  • Willingly and successfully fulfills the role of teacher, mentor and coach.

Education Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
