Seeking an experienced technical Principal engineer to help design and develop the next generation of Wifi Mesh architecture at Comcast.

• Build, troubleshoot and help deploy a highly scalable, reliable cloud native Mesh Wifi Control system
• Use best practices for code development
• Design and develop solutions to solve complex problems
• Understand existing code and refactor as needed.
• Fix bugs and design flaws as they are reported in existing code.
• You would be expected to actively participate in multiple projects simultaneously
• Provide feedback and reporting to senior leadership as needed.
• Have an Hands On approach in development and debugging problems
• Work independently and drive initiatives to completion.
• Proactively work on ways to improve efficiency and cost reductions.
• Work with a global team across multiple timezones with development, operations and QA engineers.

What you need to succeed

• Required

• Code development in a modern development language - GoLang, Scala preferred
• Knowledge of Java and JVM based languages
• Knowledge of Apache Kafka, Spark, MQTT or similar technologies.
• Linux internals and development in Linux based systems
• AWS Architecture experience required.

• Highly recommended

• Understand 802.11 standards for WiFi
• Willingness to learn new technologies
• Familiarly with modern databases, especially NOSQL DBs

• Excellent Communications skills and ability to work with senior leadership
