What You Will Be Doing
ChargePoint is looking for an outstanding Principal engineer interested in applying creativity and a broad skill set toward building interconnected HW for a next generation vehicle charging platform.
- You will work on design, implementation, and testing of the networking HW and SW on ARM based microprocessors controlling high power electronics
- Help design the HW architecture for all charging platforms to meet efficiency, redundancy and performance goals
- Develop and/or support Linux SW to bring up station HW with Secure Boot
- Collaborate cross-functionally across geographies with hardware, system and cloud engineering teams to define and implement specifications, features and protocols
- Have strong inter-personal skills to motivate and influence teams to help establish and drive best practicesÂ
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
- Expertise in HW bring up and with Linux: BSP, Device Tree, U-boot
- Any experience with RTOS environments like FreeRTOS is a big plus
- Experience with telemetry and cloud connectivity is a plus
- Strong motivation to work through engineering challenges
- Enthusiasm for working with distributed teams
- Ability to understand system-wide implications of electronic design and software integration
Requirements
- B.Eng., B.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- 10 or more years of experience in designing, developing embedded HW based solutions
- Hands-on experience developing for Linux and strong problem solving skills
- Good understanding and working knowledge on one or more of: CAN, SPI, I2C protocols, DBUS, CANOPEN
- Experience with software build tools, source control systems, and data management tools, namely gcc, git, Confluence and JIRA
- Comfortable and familiar using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol debuggers, DVMs, soldering irons and home-build dev-kits
- Confident ability to understand circuit schematics and apply working knowledge of electronics in the bring up and debug of PCBs
- Pro-active, communicative self-starter, comfortable working in a geographically diverse team environment
