Job Description

Analog Devices (NASDAQ: ADI) designs and manufactures semiconductor products and solutions. We enable our customers to interpret the world around us by intelligently bridging the physical and digital worlds with unmatched technologies that sense, measure and connect.

Principal Engineer, Mixed-Signal Design Engineering

Analog Devices Inc. is a world leader in the area of high-speed mixed-signal signal processing circuits. In this position you will play a technical role within the Communications Business Unit as a mixed-signal circuit designer for low power, high-speed, Fin-FET SerDes macros to be used in high-volume radio and data converter platforms. The candidate will work in one or multiple areas: RF CMOS data converters, SerDes IO, analog front ends, op-amps, bias, feedback and compensation, high-speed clock and custom digital circuit design, and digitally assisted analog circuit techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Good understanding of deep sub-micron CMOS technology
  • Solid fundamentals in analog circuit analysis and mixed-signal circuit design
  • Proficiency in using CAD tools for circuit simulation, behavioral modeling, 2.5D/3D Electro-Magnetic modeling and script languages (e.g. Cadence Spectre/Matlab/EMX/Python/C++)
  • Knowledge of deep sub-micron mixed-signal physical design and layout verification. Having Fin-FET tapeout experience is favorable, but not required.
  • Fundamentals in one or more of the following areas
    • Wideband amplifier design
    • CMOS opamp design including opamp topology and compensation method
    • Low-jitter high-speed precision clocking circuitry
    • Custom high-speed digital circuit design, analysis and verification.
  • Self-motivated and able to collaborate across different design sites on a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • PhD + 5 years of relevant industry experience with multiple tape outs.

Job Duty

  • Contribute to architecture specification and circuit feasibility analysis for advanced high-speed data converters
  • Perform circuit simulation using industry-standard CAD tools, optimize circuit design for competing specifications
  • Supervise physical layout design with floorplan and signal flow guidance. Run post-layout simulation for reliability check such as Monte Carlo/aging/self heating/electromigration etc.
  • Develop behavioral model and collaborate with digital design to implement circuit and system calibration
  • Work closely with domain teams (e.g. Layout, Logical Design, Physical Design, Firmware and Design Verification)
  • Prepare design reviews with clear documentation
  • Collaborate with product engineer in silicon bring-up, debug, and evaluation
