- You will support the Next generation of Intelsat Satellites transmission engineering using your expertise in satellite payload architecture and software engineering.
Are you up to the challenge?
- You will be responsible for the advanced transmission engineering analysis for Intelsat next generation satellite system.
- You will be responsible for the analysis for the Gateways location and performance for Intelsat next generation satellite system.
- You will be supporting the development and implementation of advanced fade mitigation for the Intelsat next generation of satellites.
- You will be supporting the payload modelling and simulation for the SDS system and the implementation and testing of the model in our transmission engineering tools.
- You will be evaluating the tools provided by the SDS satellite manufacturers and will support their integration into the Intelsat system.
- You will be responsible for the transmission engineering design to characterize measured payload for satellites under construction (including antenna gain files, amplifiers modeling filters, IMUXs, OMUXs) and incorporate into a centralized data base.
- You will be responsible for defining and generating the presumptive parameters for the Intelsat fleet both traditional, HTS and Software Defined Satellite (SDS).
- You will support the evaluation of the impact of non-compliances in the satellite payload and ground system.
- You will work closely with IT to define requirements, test plans and test procedures to validate the analytical algorithm/application during transmission model implementation phase and you will conduct the tests.
- You will be supporting the development of analytical model and software for satellite payload units such as amplifiers and filters, predict performance of those units and generate requirements for unit and subsystem performance specifications.
- You will provide training on subject related to transmission engineering for our next generation of satellite.
You should definitely have:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or Electrical Engineering with minimum 7 years of experience in transmission engineering
- Advanced knowledge of the overall aspect of satellite communication system, analog and digital communication payloads, propagation effects, physical layer transmission techniques, modem, codec, advanced modulation and coding techniques
- Advanced knowledge in transmission engineering for complex satellite payload with digital processor, propagation mitigation techniques for Ka- and Q/V band both on board and on the ground.
- Good knowledge of link budget analysis for complex satellite systems
- Ability to work collaboratively within the team and across the organization.
- Good Knowledge of software engineering and programing skills, including the following:
- Data processing experience on MSExcel spreadsheet and programing in VBA
- Oracle database and SQL commands
- Programming in C++ or Java
- Microsoft Access
- MATLAB simulation and modeling
- Python
- Effective command of the English language both written and oral
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel, Access, Word and Outlook)
- This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).
