When you join Baxter as a Principal Engineer - Systems & V&V, you'll use your analytical approach to identify risks and opportunities for innovation quickly. Agile and willing to take action.

As a Principal Engineer you will lead the verification team to understand fully the design specification; craft a verification environment and interact with design engineers to identify meaningful verification scenarios. Guide the team on accurate verification approach.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the verification team to understand fully the design specification; design a verification environment and interact with design engineers to identify important verification scenarios. Guide the team on proper verification approach.
• Develop automation test scripts for system verification.
• Drive improvements in test execution, quality and delivery.
• Own the development and documentation of product test case.
• Identify Testing Risks and own the Risk Mitigation Plans.
• Work within Agile team to deliver quality products as one team
• Assist/guide in authoring, reviewing and execution of verification test cases
• Provide recommendations to Trace Matrix to ensure the traceability of the requirements to tests is intact
• Coordinate the verification activities across locations.
• Compile Verification Test Summary Report at conclusion of formal verification phase for submission

What you'll bring

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of related engineering experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience developing automation tests.
• Ability to lead small to medium sized team technically and raising your own performance and others from time to time.
• Experience in driving verification strategies including and not limited to functional, non-functional, reliability, performance.
• Experience in re-defining test architecture and test automation frameworks
• Experienced and demonstrated superior global collaboration

Desired Characteristics

• Hands on experience on defining the test strategy and test architecture for software applications
• Excellent planning and organization skills, and committed to delivering on aggressive deadlines
• Expertise in ALM and JIRA tool
• Knowledge of Clear Quest, Team Center is preferred
• Strong communication skills - written & verbal
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a collaborative environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of medical device standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 14971.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $68,000 to $156,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location
