Principal Financial Sales Analyst

Position Summary: This position is responsible for performing accounting functions and financial analysis and planning activities to support sound business decisions. This analysis covers Sales, Gross Margins, and Operations. The financial activities performed include cost management, productivity programs, standards and, analysis of financial statements and accounting functions. In addition, compile and analyze market and account master data.
Position Responsibilities:
- Prepares entries, analyzes/reconciliations and ensures the integrity of accounts for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
- Provides monthly reporting support, including actuals, forecast, budget and analyze variances from budget.
- Maintains accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls and safeguards the organization's assets.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgeting and Sales/Market (OP/SP) process as well as monthly, quarterly and adhoc reporting/forecasts.
- Assist Controller in the preparation of monthly financial/operating reports to be sent to management.
- Establish robust analytics for the region to support future growth targets/ambitions and identify trends.
- Ensure the Sales/Market Plan tracks and delivers Sales Revenues, Unit volume, Market Shares, Price Givebacks, Technology Fitments, Technology Trends by Customer, Platform and Products
- Conduct reviews on customer purchase orders to ensure orders meet all previously defined customer specific requirements and are within policies and guidelines for order acceptance.
- Coordinate work with customer representatives and Sales Managers to revise purchase orders as necessary.
- Develop detailed monthly product mix and family forecasts of anticipated demand for both new and existing products; evaluate product performance to develop and update company goals and objectives.
- Provide forecast to sales, operations, finance and scheduling for inclusion in the master production schedule and business plans.
- Conduct the monthly sales and operations planning meeting for the management team to validate forecasts and discuss business trends.
- Prepare and drive analysis as well as ad hoc requests for Sales Leads, Portfolio Management and Regional Leadership Team
- Work closely with other global functions (Sales Account teams, Finance, Plants) and the global corporate Market/Sales Domain
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, or related discipline
- 6-8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, sales, operations, and/or internal audit
- Expert-level knowledge of accounting, finance, controlling processes and analyzing sales data
- Proven technical skills in business intelligence with an in-depth understanding of customer demand planning
- Proven ability in ad-hoc financial analysis and the generation of daily and monthly executive reports
- Above average level knowledge in Microsoft Office (word/Excel) and SAP (functional) or other ERP system experience
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven organizational and project management abilities
- Knowledge of modern quantitative and qualitative financial analysis techniques
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Strong drive for teamwork with a customer-oriented approach to projects
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management
