Principal IT Developer - Pega (Remote)

What is Your Impact?

Principal IT Developers are responsible for development, programming, coding of the most complex and business critical Information Technology solutions. Provides leadership and consultative guidance on projects with extensive size, scope, and risk. Serves the company as an advisor on best practices and as an information technology strategy driver by implementing principles, models, designs, standards, and guidelines. Principal IT Developers are responsible for documenting detailed system specifications, participation in unit testing and maintenance of planned and unplanned internally developed applications, evaluation, and performance testing of purchased products. Principal IT Developers are responsible for including IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, as well as availability of the application and data processed or output by the application. Principal IT Developers lead efforts, oversee work results, providing formal training and serve as a technical resource for other Developers.

What Will You Do?

• Lead troubleshooting activities for live production issues and guide the development team to short-term as well as long-term solution identification.
• Collaborate with support teams from other areas for integration architecture solutions.
• Work closely with administrators, architects, and other support teams to ensure applications are performing well and within agreed upon SLAs.
• Act as consultant to infrastructure admins, providing knowledge and support for their activities impacting the Pega platform.
• Work on complex integration issues and determines the integration approach.
• Coordinate work with the administration and development teams to ensure that designs effectively accommodate long-term maintainability, supportability, robustness, and scalability of software solutions
• Perform POCs to improve the platform.
• Mentor the development team in the proper practices of Pega Development and Deployment activities
• Perform gap analysis between current and future platform needs in support of business strategy and conceptual ideas communicated by business to IT
• Work with technical vendors and system administrator(s) to assess required platform changes (software version changes, patches, security/vulnerability notices) and work with teams to create mitigation plans for identified risks/issues
• Lead transition of application through the product development life cycle.
• Partner with management and system administrator(s), in providing governance to 3rd party vendors integrating with the platform.
• Drives enterprise-wide technology strategy implementation based on leading-edge industry standards, best practices, and comprehensive understanding of business operations.
• Provide off-hour on-call support as required
• Participate in the evaluation of the merits and risks of system upgrades
• Coordinate with system administrators and appropriate staff to execute patches to deployed applications, monitoring day-to-day operational health of deployed applications
• Keep abreast of industry and product trends, including minor and major version releases

What is Required?

• 6+ years related work experience. Experience Details: IT development/programming/coding professional work experience
• Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience IT related field or equivalent work experience
• Pega PRPC design and development experience (v7.x and above).
• Experience in configuration and development of the Pega rule components
• Experience with Relational databases and concepts - Oracle SQL, PL/SQL etc.
• Ability to debug and fix as part of the development/support process and should have experience in Integration components (services, connectors, etc.), frameworks, reporting, agents, authentication, and rule resolution
• Web services, Rest API experience
• Experience with configuration and development of the Pega rule components
• Strong experience in the Analysis and Tuning of RDBMS
• Experience with application/platform performance monitoring tools such as PAL, PMI, AES and Windows Performance Monitor
• Experience in leading development teams on major initiatives in a Pega environment with multiple system integrations of varying technologies.
• Experience in assessing design and development work efforts and resource needs for major development initiatives.

What is Preferred?

• Pega CSA or CSSA Certification in Pega version 6.1 or higher
• Florida Blue experience
• Pega PRPC Migration experience
• Ability to perform release management activities for Pega application 7.x or higher for production and test environments.
• Healthcare Industry Experience
• Agile/ Scrum development methodology experience

General Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
