THE POSITION

Blackberry is seeking a Principal Kernel Engineer for multi-platform Endpoint application. You will be responsible for leading development on software used on MacOS and Linux.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Investigate software problems that have been found by customers in an enterprise environment
• Develop code changes to fix the problems
• Produce high quality code to ensure support
• Develop code for maintenance and patch releases
• Maintain strong working knowledge of products and develop product improvements

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 8+ years of development experience
• Advanced debugging including kernel drivers in macOS/Linux (Windows is a plus)
• Experience in developing/maintaining device drivers in macOS/Linux (Windows is a plus)
• Good understanding of the kernel development process
• C++ and C# experience (with Mono)
• Strong team player with the ability to work well within a diverse, cross-functional team
• Flexible and adaptable self-starter with strong relationship-building skills
• Must have a passion for your work and an ability to apply that passion to both daily tasks and larger projects
• Collaborative and team-oriented attitude
• Effective problem-solving capabilities
• Takes initiative and approaches all tasks and projects proactively
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little to no supervision
• Intellectual curiosity, humility, accountability and positive approach
