Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Kalypso goes to market by industry. The Head of Pharma Industries will lead Kalypso's Team of Professionals into the market in collaboration with Kalypso's Capability Leaders and in collaboration with Rockwell Automation's Account, Industry, and Functional Leaders. This Leader will be responsible for driving significant growth for Kalypso's Pharma Industry Practice, for growing a Team of talented, committed Professionals and ensuring a strong, ongoing reputation with Clients & Industry Stakeholders.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set Direction:
- Ensure the Principals, Directors, and Senior Managers understand and are aligned with our approach to the market.
- Set Strategic Objectives & Priorities
- Lead annual Bottom-Up Principal Planning
- Lead annual Industry Top-Down Planning with Kalypso Global Managing Director, CFO, and Rockwell Leaders
- Understand our competition and win themes to beat them
- Identify Market & Capability gaps indicating the need for Acquisitions or Senior Hires; Lead/Sponsor Integrations and/or Onboarding
- Regularly communicate progress toward Strategic Objectives & Priorities to Key Stakeholders
- Ensure the Principals, Directors, and Senior Managers understand and are aligned with our approach to the market.
- Business Development & Account Leadership:
- Create and drive a Business Development Engine which ensures reliable, steady sources of demand.
- Personally, drive Business Development at 3-5 Clients and 3-5 Prospects at any point in time
- Lead the largest and most complex Clients
- Build a Network of Senior Buyers of our services - be seen as a peer with these buyers, typically SVP or higher
- Match opportunities with the Kalypso Leader & Team most likely to win the work
- Assign Leaders to Accounts and participate in account planning & execution activities, including direct participation in Client Relationship Management
- Run weekly calls to ensure visibility and accountability for progress
- Each year assign tiered accounts and apply the account planning & execution process
- Ensure CRM is accurate and usable as the reliable source of Business Development activity
- Create and drive a Business Development Engine which ensures reliable, steady sources of demand.
- Marketing:
- Leverage Marketing Content & Vehicles to make a Market for our Services with Target Clients & External Industry Stakeholders
- Work with Kalypso Chief Marketing Officer & Leadership Team to set Strategy, Plan, and Budget
- Set Event Priorities & Agenda with Marketing Leaders and our Industry Leadership Team
- Set Content Agenda with the Marketing Content Leader and our Industry Leadership Team - ID meaningful content
- Oversee Shout-Out Blog & Imagineer Series
- Be personally eminent - regularly speak, write, participate in panels, post in social media, attend events, etc.
- Leverage Marketing Content & Vehicles to make a Market for our Services with Target Clients & External Industry Stakeholders
- People:
- Attract, develop, and retain Talent & future Leaders for the Practice and the Firm
- Build a broad community of Kalypsonians with interest in the mission of the practice
- Establish a queue of future Leaders and guide their path
- Create Platforms for Leadership at all levels
- Ensure dedicated Industry Professionals are highly utilized while enabling them to develop professionally
- Develop a wide pool of Staff Members capable of working on Pharma Projects by staffing people from across the Firm
- Counsel out Professionals at all levels as needed
- Handle difficult personal issues as needed
- Attract, develop, and retain Talent & future Leaders for the Practice and the Firm
- Practice Operations:
- Ensure the practice operates smoothly
- Maintain a Practice Manager Role to oversee and execute Practice Operations Activities
- Create and complete a Portfolio of Practice Improvement Projects, under the guidance of the Practice Manager
- Team with the Talent Team, Finance & Accounting Team, and Tech Team
- Regularly review Proposals, PIWs, NDAs, and Project Deliverables for QA
- Run Management Processes (Friday calls, etc.) to stay on top of the practice and to keep Leaders aligned
- Ensure steady flow of practice communications
- Ensure A/R is same or better than Firm
- Ensure the practice operates smoothly
Basic Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree is required for this position
- This position may require you to travel up 50%
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- This position typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience. The business governance committee will review and approve entry to this level.
- 5+ years as a Partner or equivalent in a well-regarded Management Consulting Firm; ideally, 2-5 years of Practice Leadership experience too.
- Track record of long-term Commercial Business Development success
- Grow the overall Practice >10% per year
- Generate $5MM - $10MM in Annual Sales
- Manage $2MM - $5MM in Annual Revenues
- Significant Network of relationships with Senior Client Executives from the following functions:
- Strategy
- Innovation
- R&D
- Product Engineering
- Digital Transformation
- Manufacturing Operations
- Significant Network of relationships with Senior Client Executives from the following Industry Sectors:
- Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)
- 5+ years developing Business & serving clients multi-nationally
- Domain Expertise in 2 or more of the following Technologies:
- Digital Twin/Digital ID/Modeling & Simulation/Digital Product Creation
- Advanced Analytics/AI/Machine Learning
- Internet of Things (IoT) - Smart Connected Operations & Smart Connected Products
- A/R, V/R, X/R
- Product Lifecycle Management
- Enterprise Information Management
- Personal eminence in industry forums as demonstrated by a track record or Speeches, Panels, Quotes, Blogs, Articles, White Papers, and other written Digital Vehicles
- Track record of long-term Commercial Business Development success
