In alignment with Cleveland Clinic's new operating model, there will be a new Enterprise approach to multi-year strategic, financial, and capital planning, and annual budgeting. This role directs related Enterprise organic growth planning, under direction of the Chief Clinical Transformation Officer and Chief Strategy Officer and in alignment with members of the Executive Team. As Principal of Strategy and Growth, you will: • Work with various stakeholders to develop and implement multi-year strategic, financial, and capital plans, especially the strategy and growth portions of those plans. • Provide Strategy support for major capital project development, from visioning, planning, design & development, and execution. • Lead or support other Enterprise strategy initiatives, which may include specific organic growth initiatives, or support for inorganic or business development initiatives. • Direct Strategy projects, processes, and relationships. • While no direct reports are initially anticipated, indirectly lead/manage teams of people within Strategy and across the Enterprise depending on the initiative.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Drives Enterprise organic growth planning under direction of the CCTO and CSO, and in alignment with other members of the executive team
- Determines market and submarket multi-year growth goals with Enterprise leaders
- Works with market and institutes to develop plans to achieve growth goals
- Provides strategy leadership for development of service line footprints within a market to achieve growth goals. Then supports related master facility planning in alignment with Buildings + Design
- Working with Markets, Institutes, Buildings + Design and Finance, determines recapitalization need of existing facilities, and investment need for new facilities in new or existing markets. Provides strategy leadership for any related prioritization activities.
- Provides strategy leadership for development of major capital projects to drive the growth plans, including demand modeling, location, sizing, and overall business plan development
- Provides strategy leadership for capital planning and related prioritization activities for major strategic initiatives and capital projects
- Supports annual budget development
- Works with various Strategy Office resources (Sr. Directors, Associate Strategy Partners) to accomplish these job responsibilities
- Directs Strategy projects/processes/relationships.
- Performs a variety of functions within these responsibilities, including: project/relationship leadership, facilitation of meetings; creating/delivering presentations to senior executives; problem solving, setting and driving goals and timelines; designing and conducting complex analytics; and developing implementation plans.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Business or related field.
- Master's degree strongly preferred.
Location:
- May be remote as long as travel to northeast Ohio when needed is possible
Certifications:
- None required.
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience, with majority of time in either healthcare (within organization or consulting) or technical role matching job.
- Background in senior operations or strategy roles, senior expert or consultative role preferred.
- History of achievement and ability to influence change in large organizations required.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of healthcare industry/provider strategy and growth planning, with deep enough expertise to conceptualize approaches and frame implications for CC.
- Very strong in majority if not all of these categories: Critical thinking/problem-solving skills: capable of leading broad set of executives through a complex problem-solving process; Analytical skills: needs to be able to structure and guide complex analytics to support project needs; Presentation skills: capable of developing and writing complex presentations for any audience using multiple formats; strong presenter/facilitator with senior executive presence; Client relationship skills: able to build peer-like relationships with senior executives and provide critical thought partnership on intellectual/organizational/political questions; Project management skills: capable of leading large Enterprise teams of senior stakeholders efficiently through process to manage relationship work or complete projects; Team/office leadership: capable of inspiring teams of people to achieve results; accountability for Office culture.
