We are seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to join our team. This position can be located near our corporate offices in Waltham (MA), Austin (TX), and St. Petersburg (FL), as well as Costa Rica. Remote is also considered but must be near enough for occasional travel to one of the offices.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and implement full-stack enterprise software systems in an agile scrum environment.
• Create high-quality code testable through automation and CI/CD pipeline.
• Perform code-review for peer developers in the team.
• Assist with, troubleshoot, and resolve customer issues.
• Help inform and guide development best practices within the engineering team.
• Build and maintain tools associated with deployment and DevOps platform.
• Strong knowledge in open-source technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• 10+ years designing and building enterprise applications
• 8+ years of experience with Java development
• Experience with Linux based operating systems and RPM packaging and repository.
• Setup and configuration of virtualization, firewall, load-balancing, replication, routing protocols
• Experience with IaC and CI/CD pipeline tools.
• Experience and good understanding of Git and Github.
• Knowledge on OpenLDAP desirable.
• Experience in AWS with VPC, subnet configuration, EC2, AWS CLI, creating roles in EC2, AMI, create firewall rules.
• Experience with Apache or any other web Servers on Linux based operating system.

Physical Requirements

• This role is regularly required to walk, climb stairs, sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
