Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and Manage Kafka Clusters: Design, deploy, and maintain Kafka clusters using Amazon MSK to ensure high availability and performance.
• Monitor and Optimize Kafka Performance: Utilize Lenses to monitor Kafka clusters, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance improvements.
• Data Classification and Security: Implement and manage BigID for data classification across S3 buckets, RDS instances, and on-premises databases to ensure compliance with data governance policies.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with data engineers, software developers, and security teams to integrate and optimize data workflows.
• Automate Processes: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline data processing and management tasks.
• Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Provide expert-level troubleshooting for complex platform issues and ensure minimal downtime.
• Stay Updated with Industry Trends: Continuously research and implement best practices and emerging technologies in data management and platform engineering.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 8 years in platform engineering or a related field, with significant experience in managing Kafka clusters.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Amazon MSK, Lenses, and BigID. Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.) and experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
