Principal Platform Engineer (OCONUS)

We’re looking for an experienced Principal Platform Engineer to support our customer and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers. This position will be temporarily located overseas in either Korea or Qatar for 90-day rotations which may last for a year. After that time frame, this position will be located at Hanscom AFB, Boston, MA and will include shift/hybrid work. This is a unique opportunity to help build and shape a game-changing organization where we put our customers and people first.
About the role:
This position is responsible for supporting the Air Force as a Platform Engineer, building and operating hybrid-infrastructure developer platforms. This person will ideally have a solid Kubernetes background, supporting automation of platform management at enterprise scale. This position requires that the engineer feel comfortable maintaining the underlying services required to host containerized applications.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience leading teams building and developing containerized services deployed in production on platforms like Kubernetes
- 5+ years experience building developer platform services and APIs that scale to production
- Experience building production services using Cloud Infrastructure Providers like AWS
- Demonstrates deep understanding of modern microservices architectures, design patterns, resiliency techniques, and optimizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent industry experience
- Comfortable with modern languages, including Java, Python, Go, or NodeJS
Highly preferred:
- Security+ certification OR ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) experience
- Current Active Secret Clearance
Clearance Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance or higher
