Job Objective:

The ideal candidate for the position is someone who has experience with power electronics development and can own product development through all stages of conception, prototype, and productization. In this role, you will work closely with a talented engineering team in a fast-paced environment to apply emerging technologies in innovative ways to rapidly produce new products.    

Duties:
  • Lead power electronics designs in support of new product development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to produce working prototypes on fast timelines. 
  • DC/DC conversions
  • Perform hardware bring-up and integration of power electronics circuits and modules and support power conversion systems hardware/software integration
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. 
  • 8+ Experience designing, testing, and debugging switch mode power supplies. Skills including simulation, component selection, and schematic capture.
  • Experience with measurement, troubleshooting and debug skills in a lab environment.
  • Experience analyzing converter stability, design of control feedback and compensation networks
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident (future clearance may be required)
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's or PHD in power electronics.
  • Design of high frequency DC/DC converters utilizing Wide Bandgap Semiconductor devices, particularly GaN.
  • Experience with high-current, low-voltage point-of-load converter designs for RF systems, processors, etc.
  • Experience with low TRL technology development and proposal work. 
  • Excellent knowledge of small form factor magnetics design.
  • Experience with multiple power electronics topologies, including multi-phase buck topologies.
  • Experience specifying and programming embedded microprocessors or microcontrollers.
  • Experience with full product development process including EMI/EMC testing, certification processes, failure analysis, etc.
  • Experience with Size Weight and Power optimization.
  • Experience studying emerging technologies and applying them in innovative ways.
  • Experience with Power Supply on Chip (PwrSoC).
  • Experience with integrated components and small form factor magnetics.
  • Preferred software experience: Altium, LTSpice, MATLAB Simulink

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. 
For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:
$144,000—$178,000 USD
