Cash Management Product Manager
The Cash Management Product Manager is primarily responsible for managing the products supported on Pershing's sweep platform. Sweep products in both money market funds and bank deposit sweep products represent a significant source of revenue for both the firm and our clients.
The Product Manager will be required to have subject matter expertise on sweep products, including the operational, regulatory, compliance and legal considerations as well as a keen understanding of financial implications.
Sweep products are highly regulated products that are sensitive to market conditions so the role also requires maintaining an understanding of the current environment and industry trends.
M anaging relationships with fund companies and service providers and coordinating closely with colleagues throughout the firm as well as enterprise partners. There is frequent engagement with both clients and internal associates at all levels, including senior management.
Product support also entails a good deal of writing that includes working with marketing to create collateral material and legal on agreements and disclosure documents on a frequent basis.
The product manager will also be involved with project management and the planning and budgeting processes related to technology resources.
The ideal candidate will not only have related experience, but also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills as there is frequent interaction and collaboration with others. Seeking a quick learner that is organized, sociable, has great writing skills and can multi-task and pivot in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Crafting the strategies behind product development and delivery. Must have market knowledge to integrate the demands of various regions and stay ahead of competitors. Is directly responsible for product profitability across a range of large, complex, global products. Ensures Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, etc. team concerns are addressed during the product development, enhancement, delivery, strategy, and planning processes.
- Employing a client-focused, strategic approach to develop the business case for firm offerings in the marketplace through in-depth and complex analyses on client segments, competitive landscape and industry environment. Demonstrate in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of assigned products, the marketplace and client needs to drive product growth/development and maximize profitability. Seen as a firm expert on a key product or product portfolio of strategic importance to the firm.
- Creating product management roadmaps and establishes evaluation criteria and success metrics. Oversees pricing, promotion, distribution strategies and competitive differentiators. Positions products for specific client segments, highlighting key benefits and competitive advantages.
- Contribute to the achievement of area objectives and profitability of assigned product(s).
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
- 10-12 years of total work experience preferred.
- Experience in Product Management, operations, client management preferred.
- MBA or CFA preferred.
- Product Leadership Certification preferred.
- Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $96,000 and $163,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
