Principal Product Manager

Bungie is seeking a Principal Product Manager to join an exciting, unannounced project. This role will be part of an early team tasked with building out the progression systems and economy for the game.

In this role, you will use your experience and market knowledge to craft compelling player chases that can drive long-term engagement and achieve business goals. You will have deep empathy for the player because you are a player yourself. You’ll work collaboratively across teams, identifying dependencies and ensuring a cohesive player experience. You will report to the Director of Product Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define goals and requirements for the progression systems and the in-game economy
• Collaborate with Design and Engineering to identify what executions achieve those goals
• Model and assess impact to performance KPI
• Drive competitive research to identify insights and translate relevant learnings to the project
• Build out plans for monetization systems that work in conjunction with the progression and economy designs
• Outline risks, mitigation strategies, and a roadmap for validation throughout the project’s development
• Ensure that monetization and retention designs align with Bungie’s and Destiny’s values

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Experience working on progression systems or in-game economies for live service games
• Social intelligence, great interpersonal skills, and empathy for creative teams
• Proven business acumen with strategic and analytical capabilities, using data to inform decisions 
• Ability to model out in-game economies using multiple currencies, progression systems, and sinks and sources
• Deep passion for games and ability to evaluate and break down the components of what makes a successful live game
