Principal QE Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Principal Quality Engineer who is actively watching new trends on the market, who will help us to drive improvements of quality standards, setup of new tools and frameworks and will mentor other team members. You will also be responsible for the quality of our cloud platforms that offer users the ability to seamlessly manage and explore the genomic and phenotypic data of millions of samples. Our cloud platforms work on AWS and Azure and use big data technologies. 

Responsibilities

• Own the quality of the DNAnexus platform
• Work closely with developers and mentor other QE team members to drive quality across development lifecycle
• Implement automated backend tests and integrate them with our CI tools in order to validate system functionality
• Setup new automation and monitoring tools that fits our environment
• Continuously improve current testing tools and frameworks used by our engineers
• Work in a highly collaborative agile environment

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in test automation and agile software development
• Good knowledge of designing automation frameworks
• Solid background in test automation and software quality assurance
• Fluent in Python programming
• Ability to orient yourself in complex infrastructure
• Experience with continuous integration systems such as Jenkins or Github Actions
• Very good communication skills, self organized, fast learner
• Familiarity with Docker and containerization techniques

Nice to have

• Experience with managing and dealing with large number of test suites
• Knowledgeable of operational practices including DevOps and agile
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Splunk
• Exposure to UI testing and UI automation frameworks
• Experience in data analytics
• Solid presentation skills to share our vision across our engineering division
