We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Principal Site Reliability Engineer to help us assess as well as improve the performance and reliability of our existing and new SaaS applications. Specifically, we are looking for someone to lead our performance tuning, monitoring, and improvement initiatives to ensure timely and performant product improvements.

Applicants may choose to work remote, or be office-based in Raleigh, NC or Austin, TX.
What You'll Do:
- Establish performance testing strategy, framework, and tool selection.
- Analyze database, application, architecture, and network performance, identifying bottlenecks.
- Find root cause of performance issues and suggest solutions.
- Implement performance monitoring dashboards to help track and detect performance problems over time.
- Estimate future cloud requirements for applications currently running on VMware.
- Deploy and manage AWS instances to orchestrate the scale and performance testing pipeline.
- Design and develop tests to check system performance and stability.
- Run tests to validate Load, Scalability, Stability, and Reliability standards.
- Integrate performance and reliability testing into the development cycle and provide sign-off prior to releases.
- Improve and document test strategies, procedures, and processes.
- Work with development and architecture teams to recommend architectures and influence decisions beneficial to performance and scalability.
- Assess and document applications' resource requirements.
- Forecast future cloud applications' resource needs.
- Optimize sizing of deployed instances for cost optimization.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience using performance monitoring tools to build dashboards and alerts (e.g., New Relic, Datadog).
- Ability to forecast future performance needs and architectural changes based on the continued growth of the application.
- Experience with AWS core services.
- Understanding of cloud application architectures and their effects on performance and scalability.
- Experience using load testing tools to evaluate web-based application limitations in the areas of network, database, and web traffic (e.g., TestRail, JMeter).
- Experience implementing performant code in ASP.NET web applications and recommending and implementing the automated enforcement of code quality standards.
- Experience with the following web technologies is preferred: AngularJS, Vue, NHibernate, C#, Java, ASP.NET, SQL.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills: critical thinking and ability to weigh pros/cons of multiple options.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
