Principal Software Architect

The Mission

We are seeking an exceptional Principal Software Architect to join our growing Cloud Native Applications team. The right candidate is a cross-functional, software development focused individual who possesses a deep level of knowledge to guide our clients on their modernization journeys. This role will be twofold in its responsibilities.

The first, and more important, aspect of this role is engaging with clients and delivering maximum value in a short period of time. You will be tasked with discovery, design, and delivering POCs to multiple clients at a time. Your goal is to understand their needs, and show them how Caylent can help.

Secondly, as the deep technical expert, you will be tasked with internal projects to produce content, design internal automation and integrations, and mentor the team that we have as all strive to be an exceptional partner.

Your Assignment

• Prioritize up to 4 different workstreams at a given time. Workstreams may include client engagements, internal projects or tasks, or content deadlines
• Interface with clients to do discovery on an issue, create technical artifacts clearly describing your solution, and present your ideas to the client
• Kickoff new client engagements and be a positive representation of Caylent
• Aid in the development and review of proposals and contracts
• Perform technical interviews for Architect and Engineer candidates
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Architects and Engineers
• Develop public facing content that is representative of the work Caylent does and the problems we are solving

Your Qualifications

• Expertise working with AWS 
• Expertise writing, reviewing, and deploying using multiple different coding languages (nodejs, go, react, angular, typescript, python, etc)
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Experience managing professional services engagements
• Enthusiasm for working in a startup environment and the ability to be cross-functional
• Possess a natural curiosity and excitement for solving complex technical problems and learning new technology
• Technical background in application development
• Expertise working in client facing environments
• Expertise building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in consulting or professional services 
• Experience with testing and automation
• Experience or exposure with UI/UX related deliverables 
• Experience with other cloud-related solutions
