Principal Software Architect, Alpha Informatix

The Principal Software Architect, Alpha Informatix will help provide technical direction for cloud services, web, mobile, and intra-operative solutions for the Alpha Informatix platform. This includes active participation in all stages of the software development life cycle, including sustaining. Projects will include, but not be limited to, cloud-based services, web applications, and data storage applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilties

• Principal Software Architect, will provide technical direction to other architects and software team leads in Alphatec/EOS digital transformation initiatives
• A successful candidate will be able to function as a full stack software engineer with a strong software development background utilizing C#
• Responsible for design, development and deploying solutions targeting the Azure cloud environment
• Responsible for design and development of RESTful web services that host data to production systems
• Responsible for rapid development and prototyping of analytical processes in support of several client initiatives
• Responsible for assisting in the monitoring and management of deployed environments
• Support and develop new features on production systems
• Develop integrations through APIs for Web and mobile applications
• Assist in the design development of other cloud-based solutions, such as IoT
• Perform task estimation and develop software projects according to project plan
• Provide proactive, transparent, and concise communication on project status
• Develop documentation related to software development projects (design artifacts, test plans/cases, etc.)
• Collaborate and work effectively with globally distributed teams

Requirements

• Container Development (Docker, Kubernetes, Kubernetes as Service, etc.)
• Ability to effectively manage several projects simultaneously in a rapidly paced environment on multiple platforms, such as Windows/Linux/Unix systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Azure cloud services is required
• Maintain technology partnerships and drive impactful outcomes
• Ability to design and code within Azure environments
• Highly mission-oriented and willing to "go the extra mile" ensuring that time critical requirements are met
• Demonstrated experience with C#, and .NET development
• Excellent writing skills with ability to express strategy, technical knowledge, and processes in an easily understood presentation
• Proficiency with Python
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Agile methodologies
• Experience with edge development for IoT solutions a plus (Azure and/or AWS)
• Experience with developing software of Medical Devices (IEC 62304) a plus
• Creative and resourceful problem solver with ability to take the big picture into account

Education and/or Experience

• 10+ years of software development experience in R&D required
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred
