We are looking for an experienced principal software engineering leader to provide technical leadership for the BD Biosciences organization. Through their deep domain expertise and technical judgment, this leader will lead the engineering team to help us build our ecosystem, scaling our platforms and infrastructure with the growth of our business and providing industry-leading solutions through technology innovation.

• Set the definition, development, and documentation of software business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and cross-organizational collaborators

• Drive multi-functional, multi-year software roadmap efforts working with TLs and executive leadership on design reviews, product strategy, and architectural improvements

• Review designs, create policies, and work with executives

• Build and leverage collaborative relationships with stakeholders across one or more business area

• Provide guidance to cross-organizational teams in creating and delivering software and applications that can be shared with users

• Set standards, and help advance the entire software engineering community, mentor engineers resulting in outstanding outcomes, advancements, and achievements

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience

• 15 years of experience in engineering and technical innovation

• Experience with software development in one or more general purpose programming languages

• Continues improvement demonstrating agile and lean principles

Preferred Qualifications:

* 20+ years of experience in software design, development, and operational solutions

* Expertise in enterprise software architecture.

* Experience in the healthcare industry.

* Experience guiding companies through the FDA/ISO/HITRUST/HIPAA compliance

* Experience with innovative tools and technologies

* Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.

* Experience in designing and implementing products built by worldwide distributed teams.

* Experience in leading cross-organization and multi-functional efforts and optimally delivering transformational technology for complex problems.
