Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Principal Software Engineer to join our new development team in Krakow. You will have a strong background in C++ and C# programming, a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures, and excellent communication skills in English.
As part of our team, you will collaborate with the Product Owner, Experience Designer, and other engineers to help Autodesk users imagine and design a better world by contributing to the development of Autodesk Revit - the world-leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
The position is based in our Krakow office, employing a hybrid working model, and involves collaboration with a globally dispersed team.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software.Â
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and improve existing functionalities.Â
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.Â
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to the architectural direction of the project. Apply good architectural practices including design patterns and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on tools and standards to use for engineering efforts.Â
- Lead technical efforts and coordinate with a Software Architect to ensure high-quality code and architecture consistency.
- Assist and mentor junior team members.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders on technical strategy, issue solving, and dependency coordination.
- Continuously improve software development processes and methodologies.Â
Minimum QualificationsÂ
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Â
- 8+ years’ experience in an OOP environment in C++, developing native Windows applications.Â
- Knowledge of user-interface development based on MFC and/or WPF.Â
- Experience working in a very large code base, including enhancing and resolving issues in pre-existing code.Â
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Â
- Working knowledge of algorithms and data structures.Â
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).Â
- Working experience in fast-paced product delivery and agile practices.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written) and proactive communication skills.Â
Preferred QualificationsÂ
- Working knowledge of .NET/C#.Â
- Familiarity with, or an interest in learning, front-end development technologies: JavaScript, React, HTML, and Material-UI (MUI).Â
- Working experience with software development tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).Â
- Experience with building information modeling (BIM) software or related applications.
