Principal Software Engineer

What you’ll do at Avant

• Deliver high quality, performant, and robustly tested applications related to new customer onboarding and account opening

• Work with a team of engineers with years of experience in the financial services space

• Collaborate with leaders and business stakeholders to develop product features

• Ensure both the team and technologies continuously improve

• Take pride in building a reliable and scalable product while working with great colleagues, tools, and frameworks

• Be a part of a strong culture of ownership, code quality, and testing

• We have a culture that treats engineers as both teachers and students and encourages this by presenting weekly Lunch and Learns, hosting hackathons, and attending conferences

We are Looking for:

• 8+ years of proven experience developing high quality software applications

• Experience leading teams from a technical perspective

• A collaborator who can work cross functionally within engineering as well as across business units to drive product strategy forward

• Project and people leadership skills

• An engineer that is curious and is always considering ways to automate and drive efficiency.

• We’re flexible on technical expertise, but AWS, Python, React, Typescript, Kafka, Camunda, HTM5/CSS3 are all great to have!
