Principal, Software Engineer

Join an innovative and dynamic development team that is responsible for building core applications, used by Intelsat business teams. This position is for Principal level Software Developer to serve as a key member of the Asset Management software development team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is familiar with Satellite RF communication concepts and open to learning new technologies (programming/architecture/tools) and work as part of an agile .Net/SQL/JavaScript/TypeScript/ReactJS development team on projects related to Satellite capacity management and Satellite communication link analysis tools. An ideal candidate is expected to serve as the Subject Matter Expert for best practices around the development, design, and support of effective technical solutions.

• This role will be responsible for design, configuration, and custom development of solutions using C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, C++
• Depending on the nature of the project, this role may require building integrations with other systems, or assist with activities like scoping and documentation.
• This individual will be technically involved in all aspects of assigned projects, including acting as an IT Lead on projects.
• The role assumes active contribution to the design of solutions and ideas that add value.
• The candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and business application owners to identify, recommend, develop, and implement software enhancements.
• This individual will be assessing solution and design options, provide development estimates and timelines to the business users.
• This individual will be responsible for enforcing coding standards and reviewing the code submitted by other developers

You should definitely have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of overall software development experience
• A minimum of 5 years of development experience on Microsoft .Net platform using C#
• A minimum of 3 years working as a professional UI developer
• A minimum of 1 year of TypeScript and React JS development experience
• Excellent understanding of SQL programming.
• Proven experience demonstrating the use of analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills to address business needs.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
• This role is subject to ITAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee)

It would be nice if you had:

• Full stack development experience
• Experience in the following areas is a plus: CI/CD tools, PowerShell scripting
• Knowledge of GIS systems and programming (ESRI, Google Earth).
• Implementation of automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Strong background in development using Java and Java Swing.
