Principal Software Engineer

Job Description

DETAILS: ACI Worldwide is looking to fill one Principal Software Engineer position in Norcross, Georgia located at 705 Westech Drive, Norcross, GA 30092 (may telecommute part of time from home residence in Atlanta, GA MSA). Job Summary: Position is responsible for leading the concept, planning, developing software systems or applications in fin-tech domain. Also responsible for driving architectural design, improving platform features, and leading architecture initiatives with broad understanding of cloud technologies and deep knowledge in Java-based microservices. Job Accountabilities: Independently design, develop, test and deliver high quality software/solutions with limited direction from the project lead and/or manager and creates and reviews assigned product/project deliverables. Deliver solutions on-time with high bar of quality, and continuously improve software engineering practices. Lead the team on technology upgrade, application of best practices and coding standards. Isolate and correct complex problems at a subsystem level. Support enterprise releases. Maintain detail knowledge of software, underlying network and system software, and dependencies. Mentor and guide developers on the team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent accepted) in computer science, computational / applied mathematics, or a related field and 12 years' progressively responsible experience in the occupation or a related field. Experience must include the following specific experience and knowledge:

• 12 years' experience in application development.
• 10 years' experience in Java language, multi-threading, and garbage collection.
• 5 years' experience of operating database (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MongoDB).
• 3 years' experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting.
• 3 years' experience in Agile practices.
• 3 years' experience in UI development: Angular or ReactJS, CSS, JavaScript, and HTML.
• 3 years' DevOps experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
• 3 years' developing microservices with Docker using cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Openshift.
• Any amount of experience in resolving application's security vulnerabilities.
• Any amount of experience in a version control system (preferably Git).
• Knowledge of RESTful concepts and developing RESTful APIs using Spring Boot.High proficiency with microservice design and engineering principles.
• Knowledge of Elastic Search.
• Knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies.
