Principal Software Engineer - Conversational AI

NinjaTech AI has partnered with SRI, the original home of Siri, as their first generative AI company to build the world's first AI-powered Executive Assistant.

We are an early stage AI startup based out of Palo Alto, CA, founded by successful serial entrepreneurs who are former Google & Meta executives. Our goal is to democratize access to AI-powered executive assistance, so that everyone is more productive at work using generative AI and our own Large Language Models.

Join our team as a Principal Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain a platform for conversation AI. Your expertise in software development will be applied towards building a conversational experience that is both natural and effective. The platform will be used to develop chatbots and voice assistants, which will be deployed across various channels such as websites and mobile apps.

You will collaborate with our CTO, VP of AI Engineering, ML Engineers, Product Managers, and talented software developers to build and integrate various AI technologies. You will have ownership and direct impact in these areas of your work:

• Review and develop serving architecture design for our distributed systems with focus on scalability, observability and efficiency.
• Lead and design our internal SDK for micro services and be able to integrate components in collaboration with multiple developers.
• Drive engineering excellence by delivering robust and well-documented code, ensuring quality through automated testing and continuous integration and deployment.
• Provide technical leadership: coach and mentor software developers to design elegant code and architecture.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, managing multiple tech projects simultaneously.
• Develop and maintain documentation for the platform, including API documentation, user guides, and technical specifications.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in AI technologies and apply them to the platform where appropriate.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other members of the team.

Requirements• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.• 6+ years of experience serving as a tech lead on software development projects with a focus on building scalable web applications.• Proficiency in Python and at least one other programming language such as Java, C/C++, Rust or Node.js.• Preferred: experience with AI technologies such as natural language processing, machine learning, and speech recognition.• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Google Cloud.• Familiarity with database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.

Compensation: Our salary is competitive and ranges between $180,000-$250,000/annually for candidates located in the SF Bay area and will be determined based on your experience and qualifications.
