This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to shape the future of identity, security, and AI governance at global scale. In this role, you will architect and evolve mission-critical systems responsible for authentication, authorization, policy enforcement, and enterprise AI governance across a highly distributed cloud ecosystem. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams spanning security, AI, platform engineering, and product development to build secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure that supports billions of daily interactions. The environment is fast-paced, innovation-driven, and deeply technical, offering the chance to influence long-term platform strategy while mentoring senior engineering talent. This position is ideal for someone passionate about cloud-native architecture, AI-enabled systems, and solving complex security challenges in modern software platforms. Fully remote within the United States, the role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical impact.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the architecture and evolution of large-scale identity and AI governance systems, ensuring high standards of security, scalability, reliability, and compliance.
  • Drive technical strategy and influence system design decisions across authentication, authorization, identity federation, and enterprise governance services.
  • Partner with Security, AI, Platform, and Product teams to align technical solutions with long-term business and platform objectives.
  • Establish engineering best practices for maintainability, testing, observability, deployment safety, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor and guide senior engineers through architecture reviews, code quality initiatives, and technical leadership development.
  • Develop frameworks to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks across complex distributed systems and cloud-native environments.
  • Lead performance optimization, deployment governance, and incident resolution efforts for Tier-0 infrastructure services operating at massive scale.
  • Utilize data analytics and engineering metrics to continuously improve platform quality, developer productivity, and system performance.
  • Requirements:

    • 9+ years of experience in software engineering, systems architecture, or related technical fields, depending on educational background, with proven expertise delivering large-scale production systems.
    • Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as Go, Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, Ruby, Rust, or C++.
    • Deep expertise designing and operating identity systems, including authentication services, authorization frameworks, identity federation, and access control models.
    • Strong understanding of identity protocols and standards such as OAuth, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM.
    • Experience building or operating enterprise AI governance platforms, policy engines, or compliance-focused control planes.
    • Proven background in cloud-native technologies and distributed systems, including Kubernetes, Azure, AKS, or similar environments.
    • Excellent leadership, mentoring, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Experience with AI-driven architectures, agentic systems, or AI APIs is highly valued.
    • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and commitment to engineering excellence and operational reliability.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive base salary ranging from $160,200 to $425,000 annually depending on experience, location, and qualifications
      • Eligibility for annual bonuses, stock awards, and additional performance-based incentives
      • Fully remote work opportunity within the United States
      • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
      • Generous learning, development, and career growth opportunities
      • Collaborative and inclusive engineering culture focused on innovation and impact
      • Flexible work environment designed to support work-life balance
      • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI, identity, and cloud technologies at global scale.
