Position Description:
Designs, architects, and develops full-stack solutions to modernize existing Microsoft .NET applications using Java, Angular, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Designs and develops REST based low latency microservices for AWS, using Swagger, Java, Spring Boot, and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Develops feature rich and secure Web User Interfaces (UIs) applications for AWS, using Java, Angular, UICL, and Node.js. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:

Participates in architecture design teams.

Defines and implements application-level architecture.

Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

Recommends development testing tools and methodologies, and reviews and validates test plans.

Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
-
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
-
Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Mentors junior team members.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting alternative investments.

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing APIs, AWS Serverless solutions, and front-ends using Java, Angular or Node in financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing APIs, AWS Serverless solutions, and front-ends using Java, Angular or Node in financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing Cloud native RESTful micro services using Java, Spring Framework, Swagger or Junit; and analyzing data and developing solutions for Data Transfer and synchronization using PL/SQL or Java.

DE developing Cloud Infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform; developing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for enterprise applications and automating application deployment flows using Git, Jenkins, Maven, Kubernetes, or Docker; and building automation test scripts and integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines according to Cucumber test automation frameworks, using JEST or Selenium.

DE performing requirements gathering, analysis, and solutioning, technical design documentation, testing, and deployment, and providing support for ongoing maintenance of database applications in an Agile Project Model using Jira.

DE designing and developing Angular front-end applications using Typescript and Node.js; and designing and developing AWS Serverless Lambdas, Step functions, and AWS Batches using Node.js or Java.
